BerWann — Privacy Policy

Overview

BerWann is a public transit departure monitor. It is designed to respect your privacy. The app does not create accounts, does not track you, and does not collect analytics.

Location Data

BerWann requests your location (When In Use only) to find nearby transit stops. Your location is:

• Sent to public transit APIs in Germany and Austria solely to retrieve departure information for stops near you.
• Never stored on any server we operate.
• Never shared with third parties for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.

You can deny location access and use the app via station search instead.

Local Storage

The app stores preferences on your device using standard system storage (UserDefaults), including:

• Your selected transit provider.
• Hidden stops and lines (your filter settings).
• Recently viewed stations.

This data stays on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.

Network Requests

BerWann makes requests to:

• A Cloudflare Worker proxy operated by the developer, which forwards requests to public transit data APIs.
• Public transit APIs provided by transport authorities in Germany and Austria (e.g., VBB and ÖBB).

These requests include your location (when fetching nearby stops) or a station identifier (when viewing a specific station). No personal identifiers, device IDs, or tracking tokens are sent.

Third-Party Services

The app contains no third-party SDKs, no analytics frameworks, no advertising libraries, and no crash reporting tools.

Data Collection Summary

• Data processed: Location (only while the app is in use, only to fetch nearby stops, and not retained after servicing the request).
• Data stored on device: Preferences and recent stations.
• Data sold or shared: None.
• Tracking: None.

Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL.
